Athleta's Journey Jacket, Love at First Sight
I am a loyal consumer of a certain athletic apparel company that starts with a lower case “l” (shout out to all of you lemon addicts). Loyal until I found "The Power Of She" Athleta Catalog in my mailbox. When I saw the ATHLETA Journey Jacket ($128 dollars), it was love at first sight. In fact, I am rocking it right now! It is one of my most favorite recent purchases. Confession, I bought it in both colors - Black and Silver Shimmer.
It is the perfect jacket for those days that start on the chilly side but heat up by noon. The Journey Jacket is 20” lightweight polyester with a soft jersey lining. The water-resistant material is also perfect for that occasional sun shower (we get lots of those here in Jacksonville!).
Here are the not so obvious reasons why this fitness-fanatic is hooked on taking it with her on almost every “journey”:
- I’m attached to my iPhone. I take it with me on my runs to track mileage and listen to music. The pockets were perfectly designed to hold my 6s in place. The zipper and the snap mechanism give me the piece of mind that it won’t go flying when I hit that rush taking me into a negative split.
- I work out A LOT. My laundry pile confirms my craze. This stylish jacket is machine washable. I am not a fan of dry cleaning, neither can I afford it. So a quick tumble & dry and I’m back in business. It goes great with my Asics Gel Nimbus when on a run OR a pair of ankle cowboy boots for a wine date with my favorite leading ladies.
- And finally, this goes out to my bootylicious-proud rock stars: the semi-fitted 20” in length is perfect to show off your assets – pun intended. The many hours of squats and lunges give us permission to do so, confidently. The length immediately lured me in when I saw it in the catalog.
